Tonight’s show kicks off with a World Heavyweight Championship match between champion Alberto Del Rio and challenger Big Show. The match starts off fast pace with both men quickly trading shots before Show gets the upper hand after some hard chops to the chest. Del Rio gets back into the match after a knee breaker. After a failed 2 count Del Rio went for the cross arm breaker but Show countered then hit a monster spear to derail Del Rio’s momentum. Big Show slows the match down then hits a corner splash but only getting a 2 count. Del Rio playing possum locks in the arm breaker but after a while Show gets to the ropes. With both men on their feet Show locks in a bear hug, dropping Del Rio after a while. Big Show attempted a power bomb but Del Rio counters and Show ends up outside the ring. Del Rio hits a suicide dive on Show which causes him to get in the ring at the count of 9. After a failed 2 count Del Rio gets caught with a choke slam. Show cocks back for WMD but ADR moves to the outside. After being brought back into the ring ADR counters a choke slam into a DDT. ADR hits the enziguri then locks in a cross arm breaker that Big Show powers out of. Show again cocks back for WMD but Ricardo Rodriguez causes a distraction. While taking care of RR Show holds up the bucket ADR brings to the ring. ADR botches the first enziguri but lands a second. He hits the corner enziguri and locks in the cross arm breaker. Winner and still World Heavyweight Champion: Alberto Del Rio
WWE shows a promo for The Rock’s new movie GI Joe: Retaliation.
Antonio Cesaro hits the ring to defend his United States Championship against a heavily taped Miz. Miz lands the first strikes of the bout and kept things pretty fast paced until Cesaro was able to take advantage of the injured shoulder with a shoulder breaker. Cesaro lays in the heavy ground and pound not giving Miz a chance to get the upper hand. Cesaro really is doing some excellent stuff targeting Miz’s injured shoulder. After a while Miz regains composure by land a stiff boot to Cesaro’s face. Miz goes for a double ax handle off the top but Cesaro counters into an arm bar. After a counter takes both men outside Miz counters a running shoulder breaker into the post by shoving Cesaro’s knee into the into the ring steps. After taking advantage of the now bum knee Miz looks to lock in the figure four. As he’s about to lock it in Cesaro kicks Miz’s legs out which causes Miz to drop his knees into Cesaro’s jewels. Ref Charles Robinson calls for the bell and calls DQ.
Winner via DQ and still US Champion: Antonio Cesaro
After the match an enraged Miz punt kicks Cesaro’s jewels into his stomach for good measure.
Were backstage where Team Hell No get ready for their Elimination Chamber match. Daniel Bryan says even though its every man for himself Team Hell No should watch each others backs. Kane says good idea, Bryan can watch Kane’s back and Kane will watch Kane’s back.
Next up is the Smackdown Elimination Chamber. First one to the ring with a new theme and a new manager Zeb Colter is Jack Swagger. Swagger grabs the mic and demand the crowd show Zeb Colter some respect. He cuts a promo about the Louisiana Purchase and how America is going downhill. I really don’t know why they would think cutting a promo before a match like this was a good idea. Next up to the ring is Kane followed by Mark Henry and Randy Orton. Daniel Bryan and Chris Jericho will be the two to start off the match. Both men work some brilliant chain spot wrestling and even countering each other’s signature moves. Swagger is the first man out of the pod and he comes out pounding. He bear hug throws Bryan into the chamber twice then lands a splash. Swagger enters the ring but is met by a fighting Jericho. Swagger is able to rebound however and lays an aggressive pounding into Jericho. Out of nowhere Daniel Bryan lands a flying knee to Swagger. Next up out of the pod is Kane who instantly starts out pounding. Even Daniel Bryan helps out. After Kane cleans house Bryan tried to roll Kane up for a pin. Only getting a two count Daniel Bryan wants a hug from Kane as truce. That didn’t work out as both men take control of the match. Jericho gets back in putting Bryan on his shoulders and Kane hits a Doomsday Device. Orton is the next man in and keep in mind no one has been eliminated. Orton hits the guillotine DDT on Kane to the outside Chamber floor. With all men up and in the ring it looks like mayhem. We’ve got super-plexes in succession then the final pod opens for the monster Mark Henry. He destroys anything moving then hits the World’s Strongest Slam on Daniel Bryan and gets the 3 count to eliminate him. He sets his sights on Orton by throwing him into a closed pod door shattering the door. Henry and Kane scrap with Henry getting the better pretty quickly and hitting the WSM on Kane for the elimination. Later on Jericho and Swagger team together to temporarily incapacitate Mark Henry. Afterward both men turn their attention on each other till Henry eventually comes to and destroys both men. He stacked both men on each other and goes for a corner splash and misses. All 3 men collaborate with Orton hitting the RKO to eliminate Mark Henry. His performance was absolutely amazing. He leaves the ring momentarily then returns hitting the WSM on all 3 men. He leaves after officials force him out. When all the men come to Orton and Jericho team up to incapacitate Swagger. Both men attack each other till Swagger comes to. He locks in the Patriot Lock on Orton but Jericho breaks it up with an enziguri. Swagger regains himself and locks in the ankle lock to Jericho until Orton breaks it up. He lays out both men and looks to hit the RKO on Jericho. Jericho counters and goes for the Walls of Jericho but Orton hits the RKO and eliminates Jericho. Right after the bell sounds Swagger out of nowhere rolls Orton up and gets the 3 count.
Winner and #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship: Jack Swagger
Next up is The Shield vs. Sheamus, Ryback, and John Cena. John Cena is the first man to the ring followed by Sheamus and Ryack. After The Shield make their way to the ring floor Ryback cuts them off and a brawl ensues. The Shield does a pretty good job of cutting the ring off and keeping Sheamus in their corner but he hits a Brogue kick and is able to tag in Cena. It seems when a face gets the upper hand The Shield just swarm. Makes them look dominant, unstoppable, smart move. Cena can’t even get an upper hand for a really long time, I have never seen anything like it. He finally tags in Ryback who cleans house. Before he can hit the meat hook Roman Reigns cuts him off. All 6 men start to brawl. On the outside Roman Reigns obliterates Sheamus by spearing him through a barricade. John Cena lifts Ambrose for the AA and before Ryback could hit Shell Shock on Rollins Reigns hits the spear and Rollins lands on top and gets the 3 count.
Winner: The Shield
Dolph Ziggler hits the ring complaining he isn’t booked for the show. Booker T. Hits the ring and says he knows someone who can do everything he does and more and we’ve got ourselves a match.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston
This is a pretty fast paced match. Kofi hit some really sick spots in the match wiping out Big E. Langston with a suicide dive. Kofi flew too many times as he got caught which allowed Ziggler to hit the Zig Zag for the win.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
After the match Big E. Langston comes back in the ring and destroys Kofi Kingston.
WWE recaps the pre-show match between Brodus Clay and Tensai vs. Rhodes Scholars with Tensai and Clay picking up the win.
Next up we have the heavily anticipated bout between Divas Champion Kaitlin and Tamina Snuka. Tamina is pretty dominant the whole match. She sets up the Splash and it seems like we’re gonna have a new champ but Kaitlin rolls out of the way and hits the spear for the win.
Winner and Still Divas Champion: Kaitlin
Up next is the WWE Championship match between Champion The Rock vs. CM Punk
Forgive the lack of recap for the match. This match deserves undivided attention. What can be said is the mental science behind it is just amazing. From Punk coming in with Rock’s title, slapping him, Rock getting angry, Paul Heyman analyzing the 2 counts, it’s just a well written match. CM Punk hits a Rock Bottom on the announce table and Rocky just barely made it back to the ring and I mean barely. Punk just refuses to allow Rock to hit the Rock Bottom but he gets caught with one countering a top rope attack. Only a 2 count! The ref gets blasted by accident then CM Punk hits the GTS but there’s no official. He goes for a 2nd GTS but the Rock counters and lands The People’s Elbow but only gets a 2 count. Somehow through an exchange the new ref’s ankle got rolled in the process and he is out. Paul Heyman slides the title in the ring traps the Rock to the ropes. Punk goes to smash Rock’s face with the title but Rock ducks and Punk smashes Paul Heyman. A confused Punk turns right into a Rock Bottom and Rock picks up the win.
Winner and still WWE Champion: The Rock
Looks like our Wrestlemania 29 Main Event will be John Cena challenging The Rock for the WWE Championship.
